TDOU Conducts UNCRPD Awareness Training for Kwiha Sub-City Officials

The Tigray Disability Organizations Union (TDOU) conducted a training session on the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD) today in Kwiha Sub-City, Enderta Woreda.

The training was attended by 10 officials from Kwiha Sub-City and aimed to enhance their awareness and understanding of the rights of persons with disabilities. Participants were introduced to the principles of the UNCRPD and the importance of ensuring that persons with disabilities are included in governance, development planning, and public service delivery.

The training forms part of TDOU’s ongoing efforts to promote disability inclusion and strengthen the capacity of local government institutions to uphold and advance the rights of persons with disabilities.

By increasing awareness among local officials, the initiative is expected to contribute to more inclusive decision-making processes and improved accessibility and participation for persons with disabilities within the community.

TDOU remains committed to working with government institutions and other stakeholders to foster a more inclusive society where the rights and dignity of persons with disabilities are respected and protected.
