Together for an Inclusive Tigray

The Tigray Disability Organizations Union (TDOU) brings together 15 Organizations of Persons with Disabilities to advance rights, accessibility, and meaningful participation across Tigray.
Established in May 2024 with technical and financial support from the Ministry of Women and Social Affairs and the Tigray Bureau of Social Affairs and Rehabilitation, TDOU works to strengthen its member organizations through capacity building, evidence-based advocacy, and resource mobilization.
Through collaboration with local, national, and international partners, the union promotes disability-inclusive governance and community participation. Its activities include engaging humanitarian workers on barriers to disability inclusion and supporting organizations to advocate for their communities.
TDOU’s vision is an inclusive and accessible Tigray where persons with disabilities exercise their full human rights and participate meaningfully in the region’s development. Achieving that vision requires institutions and communities to remove barriers and ensure that persons with disabilities help shape the decisions affecting their lives.
